VCS - 1983

THE RICHARD F. LAMPE
VALLEY CHORAL SOCIETY
SCHOLARSHIP FUND

In 1983, Richard F. Lampe had the vision to begin a choral society to bring the joy of music to the Upper Perkiomen Valley. Now celebrating 40 years, Valley Choral Society is making a new commitment to acknowledge, promote, and celebrate choral music with young graduates in the community.

An annual scholarship will be presented to one student who has participated in the choral program at Upper Perkiomen High School for four years with enthusiasm, dedication, and a positive attitude. The selected student has participated as an avid singer or accompanist to the choirs of UPHS for their time at the school, however is not required to be majoring in music at a higher level. As VCS is rooted in the mission that any and all are welcome, novice to professional, the Richard F. Lampe Valley Choral Society Scholarship follows the same purpose.

We welcome your tax-deducatible contribution to fund the Richard F. Lampe Valley Choral Society Scholarship Fund year-after-year! Make your secure online donation today!

My name is Jace Bastone. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, like Minecraft and Splatoon. I also collect fountain pens and journal frequently. In my future, I plan on going to Penn State University to major in aerospace engineering and minor in music studies. I have been playing piano since kindergarten when my mom put me into piano lessons. From there, I have developed a love playing music on the piano throughout my life. I picked up the violin in 3rd grade to expand my musical knowledge. I joined the high school choir my freshman year. I was solely a piano accompanist; I ironically had no interest in singing. I played the piano accompaniment for many songs throughout my time at the high school, as that was my primary job. My other job in the choir was to play the singers’ parts to them so that they could learn the correct pitches and rhythms. By my senior year, I had become the head accompanist of the choir, an accomplishment I am very proud of.

Thank you so much for this scholarship. It will help me greatly in my future pursuit of an aerospace engineering major and music studies minor.
